Hamartia 02:07
Draped, enrobed in the navy blue velvet of an evening sky Mind stopped, rejuvenating under a pagan moon Who weakly smiles in understanding, my friend From nature to fearful industrial; the connection I shall make soon I am a nomad who carries his flaws in the tattered suitcase of raiva Tears in eyes, teeth deep in lip, questioning whether they will make an appearance Don't let him see my Hamartia - keep his eyes clouded. I can be more than cyanide, more than a dark soul I can dance in ribbons of another's love - it's if I can stop the ribbon fraying - That is my fear. He will always be there, but don't let this Man see those remnants. Don't let the heart He held, be the one this Man needs to fix. Don't let him see my Hamartia.

Blood 04:30
Just a hint of rapture and I'm following at your feet So must we play the game when we know that you'll suceed? Because every other man is cold to the touch Now you're in my blood Now you're in my blood Now you're in my... I won't ask for much to be my saviour's enough Now you're in my... Much more than two strangers in love Now you're in my blood Slow - just slow it down I'm not going anywhere You know that I'm enamoured so why ask if I still care? Because every other man is cold to the touch Now you're in my blood Now you're in my blood Now you're in my... I won't ask for much to be my saviour's enough Now you're in my... Much more than two strangers in love Now you're in my blood

Spectrum 03:26
Friday morning, cigarette in hand and wipe away the hard-earned sleep Fresh coffee, burnt plastic and technicolor drapery Visit museums that smell of strawberry jam and hold my hand so gently On the bridge I hear the great brass band playing melody so sweetly Looking strange when walking side by side The spectrum punk and the Pre-Raphelite Strolling around like we own the city No care who stares, just happy in our faggotry Being here's so strange because I'm never one to step outside Wiping fear from the edges as you're here and picking tulips to pass the time Laughing at the bustle of the city and getting drunk at the riverside Laying back, relaxed and soaking up the neon sunshine If we're telling the truth We're feeling old in our youth We're pointing out what we'd fix right into the night Barely sober- putting the world to rights
4.
Talk to me so I can see into you But those three words, much like heavy sleep, don't come easily to you But I sleep much better next to a heart that's warm My understanding's young I want to taste the words of your mother-tongue Want you to fuck me slowly in silent reserve and whisper until light Embroider your language to my ears so I can constantly hear delight And teach me so I can read into you But your mother-tongue, much like secrecy doesn't easily come through But I sleep much better next to a body warm My understanding's young I want to taste the words of your mother-tongue Want you to guide me through to places where I never thought to go Hesitancy lingering at your mouth but even so Feed me your currency of speech Read to me and bring me poetry as I'm curled amongst the sheets Because I sleep much better next to a mind that's warm Eu te amo Eu te amo Eu te amo

Raiva 02:35
The warming chest of raiva Is coming back to me The cold arrest of raiva And red's the only colour I see This does not feel like me I give you no room to speak I just shout and bare my teeth But you love me anyway Nothing now You put your arms around my body Anyway, let's forget what just happened Is there something that I might have missed? Get right down to the catalyst and Calm the fear of Raiva With just a kiss for me Soothe my cause of Raiva Because you truly see You point out flaws and where I'm wrong By sitting still, silent, strong When I'm still going on and on But you love me anyway Nothing now. You put your arms around my body Anyway, let's forget what just happened Because you love me anyway
7.
Won't you stay one more day? I have everything here Stoic, stone cold tears He's on the winds of necessity Not because he wants to be from me To Him, Across the Sea Would you save all your love for me? When you reach the barren lands Will you speak of me? And my misanthropy? He's on the ebb and flow of memory To Him, Across the Sea Would you save all your love for me? When you draw the netting in Will it drag up a cost? Will lovers truly be lost Or did you save all your love for me? To him across the sea
8.
I wake up You're there My paws are cold And my fur is bare Ears perked Leave our den Clear paths that lead us From judgemental men The light to guide me through My happiness bound to you Now you're gone You're not there My shining star Isn't anywhere I search round I search low I forage for knowledge I might never know Until I see your eyes There's no reason to go outside But my love Look high I'm still shining down From the nightime sky Even though we're on our own You won't face the darkness all alone

about

'Hamartia' is my 2nd album and my most experimental yet.

The term 'Hamartia' is defined as 'a fatal flaw leading to the downfall of a tragic hero or heroine'. You will find out what that flaw is when listening to the album.

It is a direct follow on from my album 'Petrichor' and it describes the relationship that was introduced in the song 'Honeycomb'. Whereas 'Petrichor' was an album based on the theme of identity, 'Hamartia' finds its theme to be communication.

Primarily, I was inspired by a person whose creativity I have been, and always will be, entranced by.
I tried to take some of the fearlessness and experimentation they presented in their art and inject it into my own music.
I also took my inspiration from the industrial sounds of London, David Lynch films, fairy tales, Disney - a whole range of diverse things I enjoy to create an album that I feel is a natural progression and sequel to 'Petrichor'.

I couldn't have done this again without Olli Daffarn who allowed me to be as experimental as I liked and Jessica Thirlwell for her truly incredible vocals on 'Bleeding Love'.

Thank you as always for taking this journey with me. Sit back, relax and enjoy the world that I have created for you.
